Best Live Music Venue...Huron Boat Basin!

The Huron Boat Basin was chosen as the Best Live Music Venue by Lake Erie Living magazine, and will be included in the September/October 2014 issue. Don't miss the Boppin' on the Basin 2014 season finale, featuring the New Decade band, on Saturday evening, August 30th, beginning at 7:30 pm.


First Federal Farmers Market - every Thursday afternoon

Register now for City-Wide Garage Sale II - Saturday, September 6th

Last chance of the season to turn your un-used treasures into cash! 9 am-1 pm at the Huron Boat Basin on September 6, 2014.  $12 per space (parking space size). Sorry, no food or drink sales allowed. Registration form.  


Adult Fitness

 Fall Yoga at Shawnee Elementary School will be offered in two sessions: Session I is Sept. 9-Oct. 28; Session II is Nov. 4-Dec. 16. Fee discount available if you register for both sessions at the same time--More information.


Beach Water Quality 

 Erie County Health Department Beach Monitoring reports daily water tests from the prior day. The "Huron East" report is for Nickel Plate Beach and the "Huron West" report is for Lake Front Park Beach.

NEW SERVICE - the Erie County Health Department is also participating in Nowcast, which provides "predictive models" of water quality for Nickel Plate Beach. It's an exciting advancement and Nickel Plate is one of only eight Lake Erie beaches with this service available. 


The Pumpkins are coming !  

Add Saturday, October 11, 2014 to your Fall Fun calendar! The 7th Annual Pumpkin Festival will be held at the Huron Boat Basin, 11 am - 5 pm -- in conjunction with the Huron River Art Fest sponsored by the Huron Chamber of Commerce.  A great family fun day with something for everyone!  Don't miss the crowd-favorite -- the Barnes Pumpkin Drop at 2:30 pm!
